Buhari orders immediate evacuation of Nigerian students in Dominican Island

President Buhari at the UN (NANs) President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate evacuation of Nigerian students stranded in Dominican Island occasioned by the reported Hurricane Maria that thrashed the Island. Nigerian students attend medical schools in Dominican Islands which prepare them to move to the U. S.  and Europe for the completion of their medical degree programmes. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that following the president’s directive, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had since been on top of the situation. NAN gathered that the ministry,which has been monitoring the situation, had already assigned a senior official to travel for the purpose of issuing the stranded students with temporary travel certificates. Salihu Dasuki Nigerian becomes youngest senior lecturer in UK university

Salihu Dasuki reportedly bagged his PhD in UK and became an assistant professor of Information Systems at American University of Nigeria   Dr. Salihu Dasuki delivering lecture on how WhatsApp can contribute to the empowerment of women (American University of Nigeria) Nigeria has been made proud again as Salihu Dasuki becomes the youngest senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom. The 29-year-old Nigerian, Dasuki gratefully announced his resumption to work as a senior lecturer of Information Systems yesterday, Monday, September 25 on Twitter. He made the announcement with the following words: "By Allah's grace, not only am I the youngest, I resume teaching as a senior lecturer of computing at Sheffield Hallam University, UK"   Dasuki in another tweet says he was an assistant professor at the age of 24 when he was in Nigeria for five years.

ASUU declared Unilorin a terrorist organization The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared  University of Ilorin a terrorist organization. The declaration came after the University ASUU Chairman, Dr. Kayode Afolayan was reportedly sacked for allegedly exposing the corrupt practices of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali. Update on 2017/2017 Screening Exercise for Admission

UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR September 6, 2017 UPDATE ON 2017/2018 SCREENING EXERCISE FOR ADMISSION This is to inform the general public that the University of Nigeria Post-UTME screening tests earlier scheduled to commence on Monday, September 11, 2017 and end on Saturday, September 16, 2017 have been postponed to a future date. Registration exercise for the Post-UTME screening exercise continues. Prospective students who scored 200 and above, who made UNN their first choice and are experiencing difficulties in generating invoice should continue trying.
