A LIFE CHANGING WEAPON

Anybody that has prowess & is endowed with wisdom should invest himself educating others, for without education most societies would die” (Anon)

This is an Aphorism from where my draft picks an ink. An educated man is the one with a sound philosophy of life. Education helps people to live and generate their utmost need out of themselves & their environment at large. Through education, one gets the knowledge of a particular tread and through its power also, seeks conscientious effort for improving the being of humankind. Little wonder why Francis Bacon opined that “Knowledge is indeed power” The impact of Education cannot be over-emphasized; however some are enunciated herein.

First, it could curb social & religious vices. The prevalence & proliferations of vices can be curbed through careful study & knowledge of their causes & effects. Education facilitates the right type of values & attitudes to students in the world. These students in turn build the Society & position it to over-come challenges. This is perhaps the more reason why Akinpelu (1975) asserted that, “ Education nurtures personal growth and it is through this nurture of the individual that the society attain a quality of life”. It is thus an effective instrument for the guidance of behavior & helps people to understand & interpret their lives.

Secondly, Education can eliminate or even serve as a means to putting an end to all challenges in global health condition. If research institutions can adopt and uphold adequate standards in their researches, the ill-threatened abnormalities regarding human’s health will be eliminated & prevented through education, people learn how to tackle problems like transplanting organs , curing sickness, major/minor surgery to mention but a few.

Interestingly, education is not all about studying & getting good marks by either hook/crook. It involves things knowledge acquired formally /informally. It is a means to discovering new things which we never knew about thereby redeeming us from being neophytes.

Finally, education has contributed and is still contributing to the development of the world in terms of globalization. Globalization seeks to form a society in which all countries of the world will become like a single country, and even reduced further to be like a include, thereby making all the countries of the world so closely tied together that activities among humans will become like that of as single family. In this arrangement, the economic, cultural, environmental & political activities of people at different nooks & crannies of the world would be patterned alike, so that no society in the world will be radically removed from the outlook & activities of other societies of the globe.

In a nutshell, education integrates the world in different species & indeed marks a new phase in the development of the world.
